TimeTek keeps track of when people work so their employer can pay them correctly. We collect what that job needs, we don't sell it, we don't use it for advertising, and the business that signed up decides what happens to its employees' records.
Who we are
TimeTek is a product of TierTek IT Solutions, a managed IT company based in Florida, USA ("TierTek", "we"). This page covers the TimeTek app and the timetek.io website. Questions go to support@tiertek.com.
Two kinds of users
A business (our customer) signs up for TimeTek and adds its employees. For information about those employees, the business decides what is collected and why, and TierTek handles it on the business's behalf. If you are an employee and want to see, correct or remove your records, ask your employer first; we will help them do it. You can also contact us directly.
If you request early access
The form on timetek.io sends us your name, work email, business name, and anything else you choose to fill in (phone, team size, payroll system, whether you use Microsoft 365, and your note). It becomes a request in our help desk so we can reply to you. We use it only to talk with you about TimeTek, and we don't add you to a mailing list.
What the app collects
- Account details: name, work email address, employee number, department, work location, role, and pay type (hourly or salaried) as entered by the business or received from its Microsoft 365 directory.
- Time records: clock-ins, clock-outs and breaks with their times, the network (IP) address and browser type they came from, corrections and who approved them, schedules, time-off requests and balances, and timesheet approvals.
- Sign-in details: if you sign in with Microsoft 365 we receive your name, email address, Microsoft account and organization identifiers, and your profile photo. If you sign in with a password, we store only a salted hash of it, your two-step verification secret encrypted, and your recovery codes hashed. Tablet PINs are stored hashed.
- Profile photo: your Microsoft 365 photo, or one you upload yourself. Uploaded photos are resized and stripped of camera and location data.
- Approved devices: a device code and the name the business gives it, so punches from that laptop or tablet are recognized.
- Activity log: a record of changes (who changed what, when, from which IP address). It cannot be edited or deleted, which is what lets a business prove its hours are accurate.
TimeTek does not track your location with GPS, take photos when you punch, read your email or files, or record anything outside the app.
How it is used
- To run the time clock: check that a punch comes from an approved network or device, total hours under the business's pay rules, and produce timesheets, reports and payroll files.
- To send email the business has switched on, such as missed-punch alerts, reminders, schedule changes, time-off decisions, invitations and password resets.
- To keep accounts secure: sign-in checks, lockouts after repeated failures, and the activity log.
- To support the business and fix problems it reports.
We do not sell personal information, share it for advertising, or use it to train AI models.
Who else handles it
- Microsoft, when a business uses Microsoft 365 sign-in or directory sync.
- Google, which delivers TimeTek's email through Google Workspace.
- Zoho, which runs our help desk, where early-access requests and support emails are kept.
- The business's own payroll provider, only when the business downloads a payroll file and imports it there.
We may disclose information if the law requires it, and we will tell the affected business unless we are legally prevented from doing so.
Where it is stored and how it is protected
TimeTek runs on servers TierTek operates in the United States. Connections are encrypted (HTTPS), the database is reachable only from inside our network, and access is limited to TierTek staff who support the service. Database backups are taken daily and kept for 14 days.
How long we keep it
Time records are kept for as long as the business uses TimeTek, because employers often have to keep payroll records for years. When a business leaves, it can export its records first; we then delete its data, and copies in backups expire within 14 days. The activity log is kept with the business's data.
Cookies
The app uses only the cookies it needs to keep you signed in, finish two-step verification, and remember a browser you chose to trust. The timetek.io website sets no cookies and uses no tracking or advertising scripts; our web server keeps standard access logs (IP address, page, browser type) to keep the site running and secure, and briefly uses your IP address to limit how often the early-access form can be sent.
Your choices
You can update your photo and password on the My account page. For anything else, such as a copy of your records or a correction, ask your employer or write to support@tiertek.com. TimeTek is for businesses and their working staff; it is not meant for children under 16.
Changes
If we change how TimeTek handles personal information, we will update this page and its date, and tell customer businesses before a significant change takes effect.
